NanoArt for Kids program opens the window to nanoscience for K-12 students
The NanoArt K12 program has been launched by Cris Orfescu, artist and scientist from NanoArt21.org in collaboration with Judith Light Feather, artist and founder of The Nanotechnology Group Inc., which provides support to group members for the facilitation and development of innovative Nanoscale Science education globally. The purpose of this worldwide program is to stimulate creativity and expand the visionary imaginations of our children through innovative education activities to promote a new paradigm unifying the art-science-technology intersections at the nanoscale.

Researchers have developed a way to target damaged spinal cord and brain cells using nanoparticles. The nanoparticles have the potential to target and treat the damaged cells to restore the cell functions.

U.S Senator Charles E. Schumer announced that the Senate is set to approve $21.5 million in funding for military projects in the Albany region. The funding includes $5 million from the Arsenal Support Program Initiative (ASPI) which will enable the Arsenal Business and Technology Partnership to rehabilitate and develop unused space at the Watervliet Arsenal so that additional private companies and jobs can be brought to the site. In addition, $1.2 million has been secured to fund collaborative nanotechnology research between the University at Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, Benet Labratories and private companies already located at the Arsenal.
